SkipSync is a content preference tool that automatically skips sponsor reads, intros, outros, and other creator-inserted segments while you watch videos. It uses AI to detect these segments — even on brand-new videos — so you never have to wait for the community to catch up.
It works by detecting where segments begin and end using our AI detection pipeline, then instructing your video player to seek past them. This is exactly what you'd do if you manually dragged the seek bar.
SkipSync officially supports exactly these six platforms: YouTube, Twitch, Rumble, Dailymotion, Odysee, and Bing Video. These are the only platforms that are tested and guaranteed to work.
1. Create a free account at skipsync.io — no card needed to start
2. Go to the Chrome Web Store (or Firefox Add-ons) and search for "SkipSync"
3. Click Install and then sign in with your SkipSync account
4. Visit your Dashboard to register your device
5. Open YouTube, Twitch, Rumble, Dailymotion, Odysee, or Bing Video — SkipSync activates automatically on these six platforms
Yes. Once installed and authorized, SkipSync runs automatically in the background every time you open a supported streaming platform. There is no button to press. You can disable auto-start at any time by deauthorizing the device in your Dashboard.
Yes — a SkipSync account is required to use the service. It lets us sync your preferences and skip history across devices, enforce your device plan limits, and provide you with a 7-day free trial. Sign up takes under a minute and no credit card is needed to start.

SkipSync uses Stripe Adaptive Pricing to charge users in their local currency. If you are seeing USD charges, it is likely because Stripe Adaptive Pricing has not yet been fully activated on your account region.
Your bank may also apply a foreign transaction fee (usually 1–3%). If this is a concern, email hello@skipsync.io and we can advise.
SkipSync accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, and PayPal, processed securely by Stripe. Payment details are never stored on SkipSync's servers.
If a payment fails, Stripe automatically retries after 3, 5, and 7 days. You will receive an email notification each time. If payment is not resolved after the retry window, your account will be suspended until payment is updated.
To update your payment method, go to Dashboard → Subscription → Manage Billing.
Try these steps in order:
Not every video has been analyzed yet. SkipSync's AI processes videos when they are accessed. If a segment is missed, you can submit it yourself through the extension's Submit tab — it will be AI-validated and added to the database within minutes.
Sign in to your Dashboard at skipsync.io, go to Devices, and click Register This Device. Make sure you are on the device you want to register when you click the button.
No. Each SkipSync subscription is personal and account sharing is prohibited by our Terms of Service. Each account may only be active on the number of devices your plan permits. Additional devices can be added for $0.50/month each.
Browser extensions update automatically in the background. If you need to force an update: open your browser's extensions page, enable Developer Mode, and click Update. Chrome typically auto-updates extensions every few hours.
SkipSync is a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop and laptop computers.
Right-click the SkipSync icon in your browser toolbar and select Remove from Chrome (or the equivalent option in Firefox or Edge). Uninstalling does not cancel your subscription — do that first from your Dashboard.
While watching a video, open the SkipSync extension or app and go to the Submit tab. Pause at the segment start, tap "Use current time," then do the same at the end. Pick the segment type and submit. Our AI reviews it before it goes live.
SkipSync uses a three-layer detection pipeline:
All three layers are combined and deduplicated before results are stored. Higher-confidence sources always win when there is overlap.
No. SkipSync does not block, intercept, or interfere with YouTube's platform-served pre-roll, mid-roll, or overlay advertisements. SkipSync only skips creator-inserted segments — content the video creator embedded directly into their video, like sponsor reads and intros. These are categorically different from platform ads.
Open the SkipSync extension or app while watching the video. You can vote down any incorrect segment directly from the segment panel. If enough users vote it down, it is automatically hidden. You can also submit a bug report with the video URL and timestamp for our team to review.
Submissions are reviewed by our AI before going live. Common reasons for rejection include: timestamps that overlap with main content, segment type mismatch, duplicate submission for the same segment, or timestamps shorter than 2 seconds. If you believe your submission was incorrectly rejected, contact support with the video URL and your timestamp details.
Yes — this is SkipSync's core advantage. Our AI analyzes videos using publicly available metadata including YouTube chapter markers, video descriptions, and transcripts. Detection begins as soon as the video is published. You do not need to wait for any community members to manually submit timestamps.
